jun/chun -- what is it?

Hamer and Hamer says of Jun --- "Any form of incipient devitrification
which remains within a transparent and colorless glaze will give
scattering of light and look bluish."

So theoretically one could formulate a Jun glaze for oxidation? Is the
purple and red from an optical effect also?

If someone who has done some work on Jun glazes can e-mail me I would
be very greatful. My heart longs for that blue!

If I remember correctly, these are considered "celadon" glazes. I think that
there are sections on them in Robert Tichane books which you ought to be able
to get from the library - one way or another. Interlibrary loans are a great
way to get hold of books! You might also be successful in doing a periodical
search. I can't be sure if I am remembering anywhere close, but I THINK that
there are articles by Patricia Kingsley? I will look for notes.

Sorry for the poor memory. People assure me that some of it will return
after the rest of my kids grow up and move out! Pretty sure about the
Tichane book though.
