nikom ,
has the recent OPEC rise in the cost of oil , caused an
increase of LP gas in Tiland ?.
Mine has gone from A$.50c a litre to .60c in the last three
weeks. Its going to harder for me to compete with 3rd world
wages. That job in Ireland looks good , except i could not take
the weather there :). It might be time for this old (50yr) Aussie
potter to hang up his rib.

Hi John, We haven't chatted for a long time.
The price of propane has sure taken the giant leap here in Canada. I just
went through 4 100lb bottles this past few weeks testing a kiln I am trying
to make and it jumped from $27.00 to $38.00 a bottle this week. I'm afraid
this ol 61 yr old is taking a long hard look at how hard I am willing to
work and what I am prepared to spend to make a bunch of pots nobody wants to
buy. I am seriously thinking of turning this darn kiln into a great
primitive kiln, and just firing it in the winter when everybody has
fireplaces burning and the smoke doesn't bother the neighbors.
Yep!!! You Got It!!!! Sounds like I'm getting old and tired, and frustrated.
But I just can't seem to get my hands out of the clay for very long.
Marketing sucks, and the new neighbors appear to like the welcome to the
neighborhood pots I'm passing out. Going to get into some great fun stuff
for my yard and house. My electric kiln is 5 years old has been fired over
500 times on the original elements, so it is feeling like me. Time to call
this pottery stuff a hobby, cancel the business license and nuth alot.

$.30c, what a deal! When I was checking out prices up here Washington, the
cheapest I found was $.87c per gallon. That was only if I purchased or
leased a 250 gallon tank. For a 125 gallon tank it would have been $1.29
per gallon. I decided to go with a wood fired kiln, I can get the wood
cheaper.

And what will happen from now on as people start to panic about the Y2K?
What's the betting the price will go up even more until that scare is over?
Then advertise around your local area for all those unneeded gallons of lpg.
There should be some bargains from January onwards.

For those of you feeling ripped off, try laying out 1.70 per US gallon and
that my friends is not delivered! Its not cheap living in paradise! It could
lead a guy to fire with wood, it did me, but that's another story.
