I have just finished my site! I agree that we have to advertise and cannot
depend on the web site itself generating the traffic we need for the sales
we want!
I have an ad going in the New Mexico Magazine Oct. issue.
Although my email address has changed (due to having to change servers) the
web address is correct! :)
Let me know what you think

Also I need info on how to get the search engines going.. or how to get to
them.?
Thanks
Debra

Here is one Link to a Search Engine Submission list
http://www.tiac.net/users/seeker/searchenginesub.html
Use search engines to find other search engines.

Some info on Search Engines:
First off - they are not what many expect.
They only list about 16% of all web sites.
The competition for "Top 10" is merciless
- - Lots of time and a heap of $ is devoted to being on top.
If your site is not on your own domain
- - most indexes will not recognize your submission.
Ceramics is generally recognized by most engines but nearly every other Fine
Craft category is either ignored or tag under hobbies.

Registering with the search engines and indexes is just the beginning of proper
advertising of your site.
Everything you publish should show your "URL" including your signature block on
your email.
Memorize your "URL"
Collect and build an Email mailing list - send out an occasional announcement
or newsletter to customers and prospects.
Exchange links and get listed on organizational lists.
Web sites reach a growing, vital segment of your market. But, do not ignore
traditional methods of reaching your audience.
