Hi all,
Has anyone tried using those air pillows that stuff comes packed in now
as packing material for shipping pots? If you haven't seen it, it's
like huge bubble-wrap. I have strips of bubbles that are about 2 x 6
inches and then bubble pillows about 5 x 8 and 3 inches thick. I'm
worried that they will pop if I use them to pack pots and then the pots
will rattle around in the box and break. They're originally used to
pack lighter-weight stuff.

I have seen them.. Neat'o things. But I would be more suspicious of the
inflation of them breaking the ware. Give it a whirl, make a test ware
and send it to a friend the cheapest bumpyiest way... See what
happens..

I work in a doctors office and a lot of our medical supplies come with the
little pillows for protection. The problem is that a lot of the time the
little pillows don't stay inflated. Sometimes they are linked together by
perforations and even tho they are separate pillows, all the ones that are
still hooked together will be flat. Perhaps they make them in different
grades of plastic. For pottery, I would think that they would need to be
made of heavier material. Connie

Phyllis, your last sentence reminded me of a good
laugh we had today in the studio.
To save on shipping supplies, I purchase cartons from
a discount supplier who buys overruns of other
people's cartons. So although the boxes are new, they
usually have someone else's product info printed on
the outside.
Today I opened a new batch of one size that was
delivered last week, only to find it is printed in
large letters on all four sides: Urine collection
systems.
They are sturdy boxes and will be fine as the inside
box in a double box. But I think we'll turn them
inside out if we use them as the outer box! We really
had a good laugh, not to mention a few bad jokes about
having a pot to pee in!
