Does anyone know if =22Pottery: The Technique of Throwing=22 by John Colbeck=
is
still in print? I'm teaching a beginning wheel-throwing class this semester=
and
I want to add that title to =22Wheel-Thrown Ceramics=22 by Davis, =22Ceramic=
Form=22 by
Daniel Rhodes, and =22Functional Pottery=22 by Hopper.
Any other suggestions for titles is greatly appreciated. TIA.

As a self-teacher, I found one of the most helpful books to be
"Throwing Pots" by Phil Rogers. Very well illustrated, it is
organized from basic projects to more complicated ones: Tea bowls to Jugs
to teapots.

I dont know if it is still print, but Steve Branfman (The Potters Shop)
should know.
I want to comment- if there is a book from which one can learn throwing
from the pictures, this is it. The steps, with cut-away showing thickness,
thickness changes, and what the hands are doing, are very good. I was
given a copy, as an "honorarium", for a demonstration at a local
university- it seemed funny, at the time- a "how-to" book for a
demonstration on "how-to", but after I studied it, I appreciated just how
good some people are at explaining.
