The Salem Art Association and the Marjorie T. Sherman Community Ceramics
Center are proud to present Mike and Michele Gwinup of Bend, OR for a raku
workshop.
Mike and Michele will begin their workshop Friday, Oct. 15th at 7:00PM with a
slide show and lecture detailing their style of work as well as their
artistic development. Then on Saturday, Oct. 16th at 9:00AM Mike and Michele
will being demonstrating the process of how they make their work. They will
throw and handbuild pieces specific for Raku firing, then they will
demonstrate their style of decoration and glazing. Students will then glaze
the 4-5 pieces that they brought to the workshop or 1-2 will be provided.
Mike and Michele will then lead the group through the process of firing raku
pottery.
