Just got the brand new, just out book "The Many Faces of Mata Ortiz" by
Susan Lowell, Jim Hills and Michael Wisner. I just looked at all the
WONDERFUL pictures and the whole 203 pages three times in a row! It's
hard believing a soft bound book with so many fine pictures (9" x 12")
has been published. I have been to Mata Ortiz three times and have ALL
the books published about Mata Ortiz. In my opinion, this has without a
doubt, the best and greatest number of pictures.
My eye is still healing so reading is still something of a problem but
I'm going to try and read some of the book today. I did notice that the
book lists "All the potters known to the authors as of January 1999"
(365 names). I promise to report to Clayart on my reaction to the
written word. If the written part is half as good as the visual it will
be fantastic.
The soft bound copy is listed at $29.95 and I understand a hardbound is
