Hi All
Husband Les Beardsley is interested in Chun glazes and asks that anyone
who has a good glaze please send along a copy of it. Thanks to all

can't make up my mind whether to do fall garden cleanup yet.

Hi All

I fire to 1215 c using propane gas in an oxidising atmosphere, so an
electric kiln can be used, and have used a great and forgiving recipe

Chun K6

China Clay 9
Whiting 14
Flint 27
Feldspar 30.5
Ash (any) 9.5
Titanium 4
Zinc 3

Used quite thick gives a brilliant white breaking to all petroleum colours,
can run a little if too thick or over fired. I usually soak at 1215c for 20
mins with an 18 hour firing cycle fora cubic metre + sized kiln. This one
works with all sorts of ash--- even volcanic ash gives interesting results.
This glaze was developed by me some 20 years ago and it still works well
with different makes of ingredients. Try it and write back.
