The exhibition will be hosted by the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities f
January 27 through March 25. We are fortunate to have as this year's jurors: Pet
Beasecker, Assistant Professor, Meadows School of Art, SMU, Dallas, Texas, and
Christine Federighi, Professor of Art, University of Miami, Florida. To be
eligible to enter, undergraduate and graduate students from two and four year
colleges must be matriculated at the schools in the region of the conference. Th
region includes the states of Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North
Dakota, South Dakota, and Utah. Prospecti will be sent in August to each school,
care of the ceramics instructor. If your school does not receive a prospectus or
your instructor has not passed on the information by the first week of September
please contact Bonita Day, Student Director-at-Large at the address below for a
copy. The postmark deadline for entries is October 1, 1999. Although each art w
is juried individually, in order to facilitate the jurying process, all entries
from each school must be a coordinated effort and must be submitted all
together. Many of you may have seen the exhibition poster that was produced
document and promote the 1999 Regional Student Juried Exhibition, and which was
distributed at the conference in Columbus. Although NCECA has been able to commi
some funds to produce another one for the 2000 exhibition, we will need some
additional funding to go ahead with our plans. If your institution, organization
or company can contribute something towards the production of another beautiful
poster, please contact Bonita. Not only will you help to promote the excellent w
of students in the region and the institutions that they represent, but sponsors
will be acknowledged on the poster, all conference publications and signage at t
exhibition.

Call for Group Leaders of Topical Discussions and NCECA Connections

NCECA would like to hear from members who plan to attend the 2000 conference in
Denver, March 22-25, and who are interested being Group Leaders of Topical
Discussions or NCECA Connections. The Topical Discussion session is designed for
individual members with common interest who would like to discuss pertinent issu
and ideas in an informal setting. As Group Leader, you would briefly introduce t
topic, get the discussion going, facilitate the proceedings, assuring that every
participates and that the discussion is not dominated by or two persons. No
honorarium or other compensation is given for leading the Topical Discussions.
However, leaders have derived a great deal of satisfaction from their involvemen
in a segment of the conference that generates so much interest and exciting
ideas. NCECA Connections is designed for groups and organizations to networ
and share mutual concerns and ideas. The intent is to continue to foster a free
exchange of ideas, information and experience. Like Topical Discussions, leaders
not receive any compensation.
