I haven't tried Thompson's or other silicone sealers......however, keep in =
mind
that the vehicle of these sealers is petroleum based and designed to =
dissolve
the silicone so you can apply it. Hence, petroleum products like lamp oils, =
will
probably eventually soften and dissolve a silicone sealer and leak.
e.g. I have often used kerosene / thinner to soften and remove silicone =
caulking
from glass and tile.
