Oh no! It's probably all my fault. I wrote a Comment for CM (October 90)
in which I made vicious fun of several ideas I considered esthetic
claptrap. I mocked flat pitchers, artist's statements, the
functional/nonfunctional debate, the importance of creative ideas, and a
whole herd of other sacred cows.

One thing I said was: "On the whole, however, I believe that Form is
unfairly deified, and that Surface is an unfairly cast-down angel."

Hey, I ought to stick that essay up on my website. I don't have enough
enemies yet.
