In May I will be helping to build a catenary arch kiln at a local
community college. They want it to be a forced air ,15 cubic foot soda
kiln. I was wondering if anyone knows where there are plans already
drawn up and a materials list that I could use to present this to the
administrators .
In the book "Soda Glazing" they show a kiln by Jack Doherty which would
be ok, but it is for a castable kiln. I am looking for plans for a
brick one. I need to have the estimated number of bricks and supplies,
cost, etc.. In the book, "Kiln Building", they show plans for a nice
caternary arch but no materials list.
If anyone has done this recently and would like to share their advice I
would appreciate it. Any advise on ways to present this to the
admisistrators would also be helpful.
Thanks in advance!
