Dear Clayfolks---
A while back someone on the list posted that they make chimney pots. I wondered
who that was---and the process. I would like to make one for my own chimney,
having seen a British book on Architectural tiling with pictures of fantastic
looking chimney pots.

Dear Sandy,
tis I that makes the chimney pots. Fire away with your questions and I hope =
I
will be able to answer you in good time. I make all sizes from huge ones (4 =
to
California, my wife Pauline is standing in one) to the seven Dwarves (Mrs
Telecky in Texas), using mainly two clays from Valentines in Stoke, their
standard red terracotta and standard V9 buff, both with 15=25 grog. I throw,=
slab
and use a special static extrusion method all of my own.
Anyway visit our web site www.moley.uk.com and see for yourself
Happy potting Marek

I've recently had an inquiry about making chimney pots. I'm vaguely aware=

of=3D20
them and I need some input.
How does one make them and what challenges are there to making them. My=3D2=
0=3D
understanding is terracotta is the clay to use. I also wonder about the l=

iabilities I=3D20
would open myself up if I pursue this endeavor.
Thanks,
