Pete Pinnell Workshop and Show
October 9 - 10, 1999, 9 - 5 PM
Show Dates: October 8 - 30, 1999, Opening reception October 8, 5 - 8 PM
This demonstration workshop will cover the processes, ideas, and philosophy
that Pete uses to produce his pottery. He will throw, trim, assemble, and
decorate a number of forms, talk about the ideas that drive his work, attempt
to answer technical questions, and discuss ceramic art in general. Pete's
workshops tend to be quite informal, and often turn into animated discussions
where the participants are as much a part of the workshop as the presenter.
Pete graduated from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred in 1980
and the University of Colorado in 1982. He was a full time studio potter from
1984 - 1995, when he became assistant Professor of Art at the University of
Nebraska at Lincoln. His pottery has appeared in numerous magazines, and has
been in over 100 exhibitions throughout the US, and in Europe, Japan, China,
and New Zealand.
Cost: $90 ($75 for full time student)
