Cracked It!!
I was able to reduce 3 litres of terra-sigilatta to 1/2 litre of
terra-sigilatta "paste" which reconstitutes perfectly and the way I use it,
it's enough to make 30 litres or 15 gallons. Looks like peanut butter
without the chunks.
1. Get a big plaster bowl mold
2. Pour in the sig. The sig will immediately start collecting on the sides.
This is good, what is not good is that this forms a "card pack" structure
which will block further absorbtion.
3. Start scraping the sig off the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula.
4. Scrape off what collects on the spatula into a container.
5. Continue until the bowl is empty. This took about 1 hr with a thoroughly
dry mold.
I could probably reduce it more if I wanted to. How about a terra-sigilatta
plastic body??
To reconstitute, mix with the proportion of water you removed.
Thanks for all your suggestions.

Russel -
The only disadvantage of this is that you loose all your deflocculant, so
when you reconstitute it with water, be sure to add an appropriate amount of
deflocculant so that the sig will stay in suspension properly. When you
evaporate it in a metal bowl in the kiln, you do not loose any of your
deflocculant, and then you truly have instant sig - only needs water.
Best wishes -
