brooklyn museum vs. china

I think what is art is quite subjective.....my work having been censored
in a museum in China bacause some government officals didn't like the
work, curator asked me never to mention the incident, and just because I
made a series of clay pants unzipped and called it "Liberation Army"....I
think the Brooklyn Museum show perhaps might be shocking to some, but at
least the Director of the museum is brave enough to stand up for the show
and its artists and not let the politicians influence him in any way....
(I hope!)

Do you guys in America want to live a life where these controversies are
not allowed to be mentioned? Where art that is not mainstream be never
seen? I hope not, because that is why the people of the rest of the
world look up to the USA, whether right or wrong, this show expresses the
freedom Americans have and a lot of the rest of the world haven't got!
