I'm working on a commission for the Board of Trustees at a college where I =
work.
I am making clay objects for each of the Board members and the Chancellor. =
As
an added touch I'm collaborating with the Campus carpenter on wooden boxes =
in
which to present the artwork. I am using Hard Maple for the box and Bird's =
Eye
Maple for the lid.

I do have two questions about the project. What fabric material (i.e. =
cotton,
silk, etc,...) is traditionally employed to make the bag to place the clay
objects in before they go in the box? And, where can I get a supply of
=22Fukurohimo=22 ribbon?

Rafael,
I would say a nice crushed velvet in a color that would accent the
glaze or clay body. I'm serious!

I concur with the velvet trick.

I never present my porcelain figurine work unless it is on a field of rich,
complimentary colored crushed velvet. It sets the work off dramatically and
enhances the presentation.

I learned this little trick from a jeweler friend of mine who creates small
sculptures in sterling silver..

It works.
