bifocals and throwing.....

Well I have been using glasses to throw for 8 years now and started off with
the pharmacy glasses that you take on and off.....but after that became a
real nuisance I went to Sears and got my eyes tested and a pair of Tri-Focals
was recommended because I did a lot of throwing......the tri-focal will give
you a midrange focus for throwing and also computer work......I love them for
that.
Then I moved here to Madison County in NC....in the mountains where there
is not so much flat ground.....and I also had found myself not seeing the
floor close by and running into things.....well with these two problems I
finally bit the bullet and got a pair of bifocals as well and took an old
pair of glasses frames and had them turned into distance sunglasses for the
car and gardening.....this combination has seemed to work well for me.....I
really cant live without the Tri-Focals in the studio or the computer so
highly recommend them.....I would also like to mention that I tried out those
new glasses where they blend the different parts of the lens so you have no
lines but found them too difficult and have been happy with the old-fashioned
ones ever since.....Hope this info will help some.... Take
care.........Suzanne Kraman

I find my bifocals to be a nuisance when throwing or using my computer. I
was constantly having to tilt my head back to look down through the
bifocal. That constant head tilting really hurt, and gave me headaches as
well. I had a pair of single lens glasses made up that had only the close-up
lens prescription and that is what I use for throwing and computer work. <<
