Having been involved in Engineering and the use of lubricants on slow to
medium speed shafting
I have found that the standard CHAIN & BAR OIL [the kind usualy used on
chain saws] is the best for Potters Wheels with Bronze or similar bushes. It
is very "tacky" and is not inclined to throw off at speeds up to 500 rpm.
Don't ever get it near the Belt, Drive Cone or Traction wheel as a potter
suggested.
And please don't lubricate the inside of motors OR motor brushes with oil as
another potter suggested.
Or you will soon have a completely useless motor [ the squeek will have stopped
././././ Permanently\.\.\.\.\ ].
In the US of A, I am sure there are various 'CRC' brand electrical
cleaning products find the right one and use it on the Motor only, not the
bearings of the wheel head shaft.
When in doubt ask the Manufacturer.
