Before I invested $1200 in a Rainbow (and I know they're a very good system)
I'd check out a built-in system first. We put a built-in vacuum in our
studio for around $600-$700 (Canadian). It's wonderful, and we don't get
ANY silica dust in the air in the studio. Outside in the yard is a
different matter, but I figure the shrubs and grass will be washed down by
the next rain or heavy dew. If you're considering a built-in, tell the
salesperson that you'll be vacuuming up clay and clay dust---there are two
different types of "sucking action" or motors or whatever makes it all work,
and one works much better for clay dust (doesn't clog up). We did the
ducting ourselves ( I use the word "we" loosely---my husband did it) as we
needed an additional outlet. Good luck!

I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it left.

My Rainbow vacuum salesperson told me it would be perfect for the studio,
but the company will tell you it is NOT. They don't guarantee the Rainbow
for claydust and it's microfine particlulates.

Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, but beautiful old people
are works of art.
