Hello everybody,

I'm looking for volumetric (cup and spoon) glaze recipes, cone 5-6
electric, preferably without barium or manganese. Yes, I understand
that measuring by volume is not 100% accurate, but I'd like to try it
just for fun. If anybody has a favorite they'd like to share, please
let me know.

Thanks.

Sylvia,
this might be interesting for you:
Tenmoku type glaze, in parts

4 borax frit
4 clay
2 silica
2 potash
1 whiting
1 talc
1 red iron
can be anything from spoons to cups or handfulls...
this is from an article by Brian Gartside, in the =22New Zealand Potter=22 =
No.
2, 1990
firing range around cone 6 to 8
Possible variations: increase parts clay up to 10 parts for matt glaze
Increase frit to 5 or 6 parts for more shiny and fluid glaze
if you leave the 1 red iron and add 1/2 tin plus 1 titanium dioxide you
get a nice light yellow, the glaze has to be apllied thickly
if you add 2 titanium without the tin you get a nice white
Of course you can play around with hundreds of other oxides and stains too
In His article Brian Gartside advises to fire the glaze first to 1240=B0C
(cone?) and soak for 3 hors, oxidizing. Let it, cool then refire to 1260=B0C
If fired a third time to 1000=B0C to 1060=B0C the dark surface changes to an
orangy colour.
I tried to get the effect but got no orangy, only a nice burgundy dark red.
Good luck and have fun=21 The glaze is very stable in my experience and =
looks
nice when applied thickly and evenly=21
