re mason stains

Diane,
I also fire at cone 6 oxidation. Have had very little luck with Mason
stains in pink or rose, even though I will use zincless glazes. Have found
the red stain from Degussa which is carried by NM Clay (formerly Ceramic
King) to fire in any glaze, and not burn out. Their web site is
www.nmclay.com. Another means of getting a good red is to use the Amaco
light red or intensive red underglaze and mix a spoonful or so into a 100
grams of glaze that you are using, depending on how deep you want the red
