okay, clayarters, what happens if you take what was once packaged slip (in
this case, from Laguna) and recycle it for throwing? It smells a little like
rotten eggs. Did they add something to it like vinager before they packaged
it? Can you throw it okay? Has anyone tried this?
I came into some paint your own ceramics and got a lot of greenware with
the bisque. Some of it was broken beyond repair so I thought I'd recycle
along with my regular low fire clays. I did keep it in a seperate bucket and
added water.
Any thoughts?

Half the time I mix up a glaze and add CMC I get the same result. I haven't
had trouble with stinky glaze inthe fire. I presume its just decomposed
organic matter that got in. Same with the slurry which ultimately becomes
yummy clay. The slurry smells like the sewer, but when it gets dried down to
clay, it smells lovely and earthy. But I'll be interested to hear other's
experiences.
