Mel,
I first got a drawing of your vent system well over a year ago and we've
been waiting for the kiln to be moved to its permanent location. The kiln is
about to go into its new little kiln room we added on to the studio.
However, we are not excited about bringing the 3/4" stainless pipe up through
the roof. Do you think your method could work by having the 3/4' pipe go
straight out the side of the studio, then add and elbow to go up? Much like
one would alternately have the stove pipe for a woodburning stove go out the
side of a house and then up instead of straight up through the ceiling. Or
perhaps use flexible stainless pipe to go out the side of the building? I
thought I'd ask your opinion before putting a hole in the side of the studio.
Also, how does one get the lid of the kiln tight?
Thanks,
Marion
