OK Dannon: Here is how I throw a three piece plate. I could make it 4
piece if you want. I throw a 10 lb shallow bowl. Let it get leather hard.
throw a 6 lb donut without a bottom, flip it over on the bowl. throw a rim.
Let it get leatherhard. throw a coil from near the centre and flatten it
down on the other rim. poke, impress and distort. It's sort of a version of
your double wall pots. to make it 4 piece I'd trim the plate and throw a
footring.
If this firing produces a nice sampling of the texas hot sauce I'll glaze
one and put it on our website.
Long live the Alamo.

Dear Tony:

It must be early and I've only had one cup of tea, but I'm not getting the
third part of the three part plate. You say to throw a coil in the center --
center of what? Do you throw a separate coil and put in on the leather hard
rim. As you can see I'm lost in the Oregon fog. :-)

Warmest regards,
June
P.S. Love your new web site. Wonderful work!

Dear June: I add a large coil right where i joined the bowl part and the
rim. I throw this coil straight up in the air about 6- 8 inches and then
fold it down on to the rim. Makes a second skin on the rim which can be
poked, impressed and wiggled.
I hope to post pics soon. I am throwing a coil right near the gallery of my
teapots and folding it down too for poking and pressing. This has all
evolved within the past month. Exciting!
cheers,
tony
