Just a quick combined post.

1 Dead Mice in the cellar. Suspect Carbon dioxide which is denser than air =
and
tends to lie in low places if there is not a sufficiently fast current of =
air.

2 Using grog as a separating compound to lift pots from the surface of a =
shelf
may be a bit iffy. Be sure the grog is not derived from glazed pottery or it=
may
fuse pots to the shelf. And use Alumina in preference to Silica.

3 Melting point of Pure Aluminium given by Kaye and Laby is 660.37 deg C (
1220.666 deg F). It does not have a temperature at which it starts to melt =
and
another where melting is complete. Once the temperature hits the mark, it =
melts.
