Helvi,

Go to the Digitalfire website and try "Insight". They have a free trial
period during which you can evaluate their software to see if you like it.
I've found it easy to use and a lot of help. Would give you the address, but
I can't seem to locate it. It's easy to find via a search engine, in any
case, but others will doubtless post it.

Hi, Helvi.
The best place for you to start your research would be the
June/July/August 1998 issue of Ceramics Monthly. Look for Rick
Malmgren's article reviewing all the various software programs. Some
will fit your gear, some will fit your expertise, and some will fit how
you liketo think about your glazes.
Good luck.

You can't go wrong with buying David Hewitt's Glaze Book.
Well, that is perhaps that is an overstatement :-))
But if you do muck things up, David will help you as he has helped me.
Try him on david@dhpot.demon.co.uk or http://www.dhpot.demon.co.uk
or

Although this side of the pond, he lists USA and UK raw materials, and you
can add in any other odd ones that you have, find or scrounge. Very well
worth the few pounds to buy. He also does a booklet which helps you
understand the results of your test glazing.

I have to strongly concur with Neil Grant - I am a student at the Otago
Polytechnic and have found the Matrix glaze software absolutely fantastic.
It has demystified some aspects of glaze technology and helps the newcomer
or old hand to simplify the chemistry side of things. Go for it and have
loads of fun!
