I am planning a "mission life day" for a 4th grade class, to show them how
things were done in the 1800's when the California missions were being
built. I wanted to give them the experience of making adobe bricks in a
mold, and was thinking that I would have them mix some sand, water and grass
clippings with some terra cotta clay powder and pack it into small
matchboxes.
I wonder if you could suggest where I could find powdered terra cotta clay
and if you have any idea what proportions would be good to make a decent
adobe brick. Thanks for your help.
