Here's what I do, I use lotions through out the day but at night before I go=
to
bed I plunge my hands into melted wax (the kind used in canning and make =
sure it
is not too hot, you do not want to get burned) and leave it on for 1/4 to =
1/2
hour. I then peel the wax off , next I rub olive oil into my nails or even =
soak
them for a bit in the olive oil, last I rub olive oil into my hands and put =
on
an pair of light cotton gloves. This works quite well to help prevent cracks=
and
to help heal them . If you do have cracks, Super Glue them together, they =
will
heal quicker and it kills germs (but it does hurt like the dickens=21). Kimi

I have held back on this, because I thought someone would mention a couple =
of
=22cures=22 I have known for years. At the risk of being laughed off the =
list, the
answer is simply CARROTS... Yes, that rather boring vegetable. Cut the end =
off
the carrot and rub any cracked and dried skin until the juice has dried. =
Then
cut another slice and go on rubbing. This is also a cure for cracked lips in
winter. You may smile, but IT WORKS=21 Better and cheaper than any =
manufactured
product, although it may surprise folks when you whip out a carrot to =22do =
your
lips=22 in public=21
Secondly, if the carrot does not help after a day of repeating rubbing =
whenever
you have time...
Try Calendula cream with a drop or two of pure Tea Tree oil added if the =
cracks
are inflamed. From a health food shop, it usually does not contain petroleum=
or
lanolin. It is sometimes overlooked that applying grease is not the cure it
should be. The grease only keeps in what moisture is already there. It does =
not
=22moisten=22 as I think someone has already mentioned. That is not possible
according to dermatologists I have spoken to. The skin is a =22one way=22 =
system. It
is the biggest organ and is one big waste disposal system. It just does not
=22absorb=22 anything=21
But do try the carrots first. You will be amazed=21
Janet Kaiser... Still working on the web site until all hours. At least this
list brings a body back to some sort of normality=21
