i am a woodfire potter interested in relocating to Barcelona, Spain for a
year. I am concerned about finding someone in the general area doing
woodfiring. I know Spain has got great pottery but... does it have ANY
woodfirers at all anywhere? any and all leads would be appreciated - I am
thinking of moving there in August of 2000 - so I have time. I speak pretty
good spanish and have a pretty good understanding of the woodfire process.
I am not picky about kiln types or firing styles - i just want to keep
learning during my year away.
Please send advice/tips to me at: rcook_mack@hotmail.com as my friend is
posting this message for me.
any advice will be much appreciated.
thanks in advance,
rebekah

There are high fire wood ceramic artists in Spain. Arcadi Vlasco is one
but he works on large commissions at his home studio north of Alicante.
Most folk potters used low fired wood in their production. Some site
near Barcelona are Briesgo and Quart.
