potter's stool

Has anyone had experience with the stool that can be attached to the
Pacifica wheel? It can be adjusted horizontally and vertically and it
looks like you could even tilt the seat by adjusting the horizontal bracket
to swivel up and propping up the back two feet.

I have one and I have mixed feelings about it because of the slippage
unless you tighten the knobs with super human strength. It does position
well for one person but my wife uses a cosiderable different height which
requires changing and that isn't that easy. If you adjust it for yourself
and leave it then it's not bad. It works well and is much more comfortable
for long sessions than my Lockerbie. There are some nice adjustable stools
out there but I haven't done a price comparison. I ended up putting a brick
under the center pole of the Pacifica seat just for stabilization since the
height of the seat with the supportive brick worked well. As for the wheel
and the foot control... I love it!

As the "other half" in the Rudy Bauer household, I concur with this, as
I've given up on trying to loosen the knob that holds it in position, so I
end up using the lockerbie more (which doesn't bother me, since I love the
old kickwheel-- but that only works during the day, since it's outside and
it's not too comfortable to throw in the dark). I find that the chair on
the Pacifica also tends to rock side to side when I change positions.
