newbie at the kiln

I've been throwing at various schools to have access to their kilns and
would like to finally bite the bullet and get my own. Would someone please
recommend a good electric kiln with digital controller? I've heard Skutt is
good but pricey.... Is L&L a good kiln? As always, money is a little
tight.

I know I'm getting into personal preference here, and don't want to start a
"your kiln sucks" flame war. If you'd prefer, please answer privately to
either mfm@rssm.com or iwonder@earthlink.net.

I know you could be off happily messing around with whatever you're making
now, so thanks for your time!

Hi Marlene,

I just bought a Paragon that I just love. It's a small one, but it fits my
needs. Do you get the magazine "Ceramics Monthly"? they have a lot of good
articles about kilns in it.

Dear Marlene,
I really like my relatively new L&L JD230.
The only thing I do not like are the cheesy
chains that secure the lid when in an open
position.
Regarding prices I highly recommend Bennett
Clay Supply in Florida.
Happy Thanksgiving,
