Naama,

I have experienced very satisfactory results with the Degussa Cd inclusion
pigments. You did not mention the percentage of pigment that you use. I use
8% Bordeaux Red in a slip glaze that is fired to cone 9 ox. It is a
beautiful translucent red. However, I have not personally used the pigment
in a slip. Candace Resnick gave me a formula for a slip employing 30 parts
Bordeaux Red: 100 parts dry porcelain by weight. Her red is similar to
mine, but not quite as intense. You might try that as a starting point. If
you have not been following the discussion of 'Keeping Cadmium colorful', you
should probably go back and read the entries. It is also possible that your
glaze is destabilizing the inclusion (Zr) matrix and allowing the Cd to
volatilize at high temperature. I need more information to help further.
Good luck!
