advice for propane burning venturi burner

Dear Clayartists,

Can someone advize me concerning correct adjustments and kiln size for a
gas burner? I have recently returned to Cote d'Ivoire from a short
vacation in the U.S., arriving with a venturi burner, purchased in order
to improve production capability of ceramic water filter candles. The
burner is made by the Hones Co. of Long Island, their #HP150,
appropriate at between 5 and 10 psi, and 150,000 to 200,000 BTUs per
hour. This requires a 3/8 inch gas fitting.

Upto now the burners that I have used of this type were substantially
smaller, and could be used with the same kind of regulator used on a gas
stove, without a pressure gauge, but the guy who sold me the regulator
told me this time I do need the regulator, and possibly two 20 liter gas
bottles ganged up, rather than just one. But the regulator can be
operated to 289 CFH and 10 psi. Would this suggest I can build the kiln
bigger than the 2.0 cu. ft. I had planned for the burner? I also have
questions about correct amounts for primary and secondary air, as well
as to the coin slot adjustment on top of the regulator. Can someone
help?

Thanks,
Reid Harvey
