Clay and frit identity codes
To answer Joyce Lee
It is doubtful if these =23=23=23=23 codes are any more than identity =
numbers which come
from a sequence in the master test ledger. Nothing sinister like the =
proportions
of the main ingredients in a specific order. In a laboratory every test =
specimen
has to have an identity. I worked for several years with a series which had
started at A. During my time we turned over to AAAA having got to ZZZ. Every
specimen was in storage for reference.
Hope that gives an acceptable answer.

Ice-cream from apricots? Now that's clever.
As to the ID codes, I used to work in a tile factory as the glaze tech and
the letters and codes used by ourselves and visiting reps could refer to
anything under the sun - from a date, a specific frit, one of a series from
an original base, or as you stated - an alphanumeric record. The recipes, of
course, quite secret.
