kiln venting system - bailey

Hello,

as I was rummaging through the archive, I read that some of you had trouble
with the Bailey venting system leaking gases into the room over a year
ago. I was wondering if the problem was fixed and how, and if there are
speculations/facts about what may have caused the leak in the first place.

Thank you for any information you may have,

Yes, I have learned from my mistakes...
I can reproduce them exactly.

I had originally used dryer venting between the kiln and the exhaust wall
outlet, and after two or three years the vapors that were drawn out of the
kiln caused the venting to corrode creating holes. I replaced it with
double wall stiffer metal (don't know the material) tubing of the same size,
and it seems to be doing just fine now. Keep expecting the fan to rust out,
but it hasn't happened.
