i read a catalogue which has definitions of chemicals for ceramics. under
nickel oxide, it says, "a black powder which produces browns, grays, blues,
and yellows." i've never seen yellows with nickel oxide. when i have a
low-firing, one of my glazes makes blue black with nickel oxide and cobalt
oxide. also, nickel crystalline glazes can be seen at high-firing so that i
know it makes darker colors and blues. i cannot imagine what kind of yellow
nickel oxide makes. if anyone has "nickel yellow" glaze recipes, please let
me know.: )
