Claybuds,
Second question of the day. Has anyone used graphite for burnished pots? If
so, what is the best method to apply it, since it is in a powder form without
making a royal mess? Do you mix it with anything? Thanks in advance for any
reply.

Joyce A:
Guess you missed Bob Wicks post last week. He cited his method. Go
the the archives and search for graphite.
I offered my take: use "pyrolytic" graphite if you can obtain it.
And suspend it in an organic to apply same, I'd try windshield antifreeze
(methanol and water) or gasline antifreeze (methanol) as the liquid. And
do not bisque much above C07 perhaps lower if you wish to apply the
graphite mix onto biscuit.
Bye for now. Peace. Tom B.

Joyce and others:
I attended a workshop by Michael Wisner this past August in which he
demonstrated the graphite application and burnishing process amoung
other techniques. If you have an opportunity, DO TAKE his workshop. In
the November 1999 issue of Ceramics Monthly, find Norbert Turek's
article titled "The Spirit to Learn, The Spirit to Teach" about Michael
Wisner. In that article, starting on page 62 Michael fully explains the
graphitie process.

I've tried it and IT WORKS GREAT!!!!
