glazeteach update

updated tue 28 dec 99

Lawrence Ewing on sat 18 dec 99

Hi Everyone,

Firstly a thank you to all those who have written words of appreciation and
encouragement re GlazeTeach and to those who have notified me of the
inevitable errors which emerge in the functioning of new websites. The
errors notified so far have been corrected.

Secondly I am adding a new page to GlazeTeach which will list any site which
might be of use to those wanting to learn more about glaze technology. If
you know of such a site or if you have resources which would compliment and
extend the GlazeTeach study units then I will list them on this new page.

Many thanks everyone..

Kind regards,

Lawrence Ewing

Lawrence,

I would like to add my congratulations as well. Haven't gone through the whole
thing, but the first two modules are terrific! Really gets one quickly to a
basic working knowledge of glaze materials, what they do and how they interact.
Can't wait to read on.

One editorial suggestion: in the self testing pages if you miss a question you
are sent to the relevant page discussing the topic of the question. That's
good. The problem is, now it is quite cumbersome to get back to the test page
to continue on with the self test. My navigation route involved going to the
"menu of study units" button, then to the first topic of the next unit and then
toggling backward to get to the question I missed so I could then continue on
with the next questions. Very awkward. There needs to be a toggle button that
takes you directly back to the question you missed after reviewing the relevant
topic.

Again congratulations and thanks for creating and sharing such a useful tool.

Bob

Below is Lawrence Ewing's private reply to my "suggestion" regarding Glaze Teach
He was kind enough to send the reply privately since my "suggestion" reveals my
glaring computer illiteracy. I hope he doesn't mind this public airing. Since
made my original comments public, I thought it important not to leave CLAYARTERs
misinformed about the ease of using Glaze Teach. Try it, you'll like it.

Lawrence's reply:

Hi Bob,

Thank you for you kind words about GlazeTeach. Sorry you are having difficulty i
navigating from the topic page back to the test page. When
you select an incorrect answer a NEW browser page should open with the topic
information in it leaving the test page still open. The intention
is that after you have reviewed the topic, you simply close that page as you wou
for any browser page which should leave the original
browser page with the test questions displayed. Is it working this way for you?
not can you tell me what browser you are using and perhaps
I can fix the problem.

Look forward to hearing from you again Bob

Kind regards,

Lawrence

Would like to add my 2 cents to the GlazeTeach. It really is great and very
simple to understand, I've been through several books on the subject, but
this has been the easiest to understand.

I too, found the going back and forth from test to subject matter very
cumbersome. So far that is my only complaint. Thanks so much for making
this available.
