Maybe you re bisquing too hot and your ware is already vitrified, or close
to it. I suggest you call your clay supplier, and pick their brain. I recall
having had the same problem some years ago, and as I recall is was some sort
of a glitch with the clay batch something about too much, or was it too
little? talc. But the glaze just categorically refused to stick. Took the
whole order back for a replacement, and all was fine in the pottery world
for that moment.
Good luck in finding a solution. There s nothing worse than turning out what
you think (hope) is nice stuff, to find that you can t finish it.
Pam in Seattle. It smells cold tonight, if you know what I mean, but snow
here in the lowlands is not expected. Maybe a dusting for Christmas, but
that s all I want to see unless I go to the slopes!
