clayart archives and y2k

I heard this worry expressed on this list about a month ago. The "REAL
Clayart Archives", those covering the years 1993 to today will survive
if my PC does.

Yes, 1993! The Clayart Archives currently on the net only go back to
1996. I'm only missing November and December of 95 (the period of "the
Crash") which according to my research NOBODY has.

These are on offer to someone with the space on a server to make them
accessable to the general list. I spoke with Tom Grey about this in
October and he thought it might take a server with about 300 MB of free
space. The database is currently about 100 MB, current internet search
engine technology would require an additional space of the same size to
create the search index and another 100 MB to allow for growth.

Actually, adding 1993 to 1995 to one of the current databases would
require considerably less. The Monthly logs get bigger with the passing
years.

I don't claim any "rights" to them. They're the property of Joe, Mary,
Richard and the Clayart community. I'm just sort of their "steward".

Please let me know if you're interested. I think they deserve a more
"accessable" home.
