I had a bad experiance with MSDS documents which I would like to share. In
my organization there was a worker drilling holes in material X. He got very
choked up and sick. He had been told the material was harmless based on a
MSDS doc. which came from the wharehouse dept. UPON more investigation I
found that there was another version of MSDS for landfill,
recycle,waste-stream issues etc.
Eventually I came across a third sort of MSDS for people who process and
work upon directly( like drill holes ) with the material.
So try to get ahold of the MSDS which is pertaining to your role with the
material in question.
Some People might like to know that MSDS means; material safty data sheet.
I've also learned another usefull twist to MSDS doc.s. They list all the
ingredients in the substance. Like for instance Thompsons Water Seal is
mostly paint thinner and a little bit of Pine Oil!
