I mixed up a small batch of a glaze published in CM, October, 2004,
tried it, liked it, and mixed up a larger batch -- kept separate from
the original. I put this new glaze mix on a few pots, fired, and
got.........ugh.
The glaze mix is a dull terra cotta color and it fires to a nice, warm
yellow semi-gloss.
The result looked underfired--rough surface, same color as the glaze
mix.
Everything else in the kiln, glossy or semi-gloss, fired nicely.
All I can think of is that something went wrong in the mixing process.
Can anyone help?

One of the glazes in this firing was Ron Roy's experimental
Licorice/Redart (I participated in the testing). I hope he publishes
his findings------it's stunning!
