Joyce, I use kiln wash on my shelves- just on one side. You wrote that you
could only use one side of the shelves because of the kiln wash. During the
bisque firing just flip the shelf over and place your green ware on the
side that has no kiln wash. Possible flaking is no problem on unglazed
