Hello Clayarters,

We are experimenting with some success with decorating on large
Stoneware tiles - about 14 X 17" after shrinkage. I have several
projects which could demand about 200 tiles per month by
the end of the year, starting with 50. They must be flat within about
3/16", most other irregularities will be ok, even welcome.

We are located in NE Wisconsin. The most immediate project would
require a cost to our door of about $14.00 per tile. Other projects
could allow higher costs, but this is where we want to start if
possible.

Is anybody capable and interested in making these large Stoneware
tiles to order?

Will also be interested in hearing about any successful techniques for
making tiles with some economy of this nature and size.

(I am aware that Fernando Pinal may
have some capability to do this by Spring, but our need is becoming
immediate.)

Thank You,

George Koller

George:

We can press these on our 60 ton press. Can you provide more
specifics...glazed or not? Field tile? Clay body? Temperature? Etc etc

Give me a call to discuss

Have you considered using clay based kiln shelves? I have heard of this
being done in the past.
