Clayarters,
I am one of a growing number of clay artists living and working in the
Ames-Des Moines area of Iowa. We currently lack a convenient source of
ceramic supplies and equipment. The closest suppliers are in
Minneapolis-St. Paul--a 4-5 hour drive away. It is my perception that
there are enough of us in the area that we could support a local source of
supply. First, I want to try to determine if this perception is accurate
so, if you are a clay artist living in the Des Moines-Ames and are
interested in this please contact me via the information below. If you
know of others who do not currently subscribe to Clayart, please pass the
information along to them and encourage them to contact me.
If my perception is correct, perhaps we could entice one of the existing
ceramic supply firms located in the states surrounding Iowa would consider
opening a satellite outlet in the area--or start a new company??
So, Iowa potters, ceramicists... are you out there? Are you interested?
