pugmil for a ceramics studio

Hello Clayarters,

I am considering purchasing a "Peter Pugger" PM 50 or the deairing model,
Peter pugger VPM 30 for our ceramics department.

We recycle aprox. 400lb. of clay per week and I am concerned that these
models may not be sturdy enough to handle the work load.

Price is a concern, but I don't want to spend money on a piece of equipment
that can't handle the work load.

Any feedback for people who run a group studio? What do you have in your
studio?
Thanks,
Numo

Numo,

I think your best bet is going to be calling the manufacturer. (Their phone
number is easy to find in any CM or CT magazine.) I found them very
forthcoming in their communication with me.

You will love the peter pugger I had one at the high school I taught at and
ran
it all day, this is one well thought out machine and it is a work horse! have

no fear.

Numo, my wife and I have Peter Pugger and recycle maybe 100 lbs a week when
we are in high production. We warm up a 30lb batch just before throwing or
just keep throwing in our scraps - let it mix it up -pug it out and were
ready to go again. We love it and it seems very sturdy.

Numo,

Four hundred pounds a week for even the small model Peter Pugger is duck
soup. I have one for my studio and can easily do that much. Love my Peter
Pugger - best investment I ever made in pottery.
