I am looking for a source for yellow clay. I am interested in making
yellowware. I would like it in moist form, but I have not been able to find
any sources. Does anyone know where I can buy some or have a recipe for
yellow clay for the wheel - would like midrange stoneware or low-fire. TIA

My local East Texas clay company has just
started making clay for midrange yellow ware.
I don't know if they are still fine-tuning the
clay or in actual production.
The company is Blackjack Clay; you can contact
them at

There used to be an earthernware clay out of Murphys (?) Calif.....close to
Stockton. Fired a nice toasty yellow-brown in Oxy.
