Silvia Simon from Australia wrote me off-net to ask what white glue was.
My response didn't get thru; maybe this will reach her.
Dear Sylvia, Now you have me stumped. I'd be sure you have a similar
product, but what would it be called? A commonly used glue here can be
washed off with water (while fresh, at least) is white in color, slightly
thick, and comes in a squeeze bottle. There are probably several
manufacturers, but what I'm using at the moment is called "Elmer's
Glue-All" and it says on the back: Label conforms to ASTM D 4236; Reorder #
E-372. Elmer's Products, Inc. Columbus, OH 43215-3799. Probably an art or
crafts store near you has something local. Good luck! Lesley

Hi Leslie, Sylvia, and other glue lovers!
Elmer's white glue, as well as the dozens of other similar products are made
of dried dairy by-products, such as casein, along with other organic
ingredients, and water.
