Making and Decorating Functional Pots
Matthew Metz
As one of the pre-eminent potters in the country, Matt works with the wheel
to create a variety of forms in porcelain. In this workshop, he
demonstrates stacking sections on the wheel and hand building with parts
thrown off the wheel. These pots are decorated with a variety of techniques
including sgraffitto, carving and sprigging. Slide lectures and discussions
about the life of a working potter included.
